Plunger rod

To maintain consistent thermal and thus dimensional control of the plunger tip, it is necessary to closely manage the flow of cooling water through the plunger during the casting cycle. Dimensional problems can often be resolved by an adequate flow of coolant through the shot rod.

The capacity of the CASTOOL rod is sufficient for an ample flow of cooling water and the lines or connections into or out of the rod do not reduce the flow.
